This is the first episode on a documentary series I'm working on for Arbor Snowboards. In this series I decided to focus on trying to convey what it's like to be a pro snowboarder, the good and the bad. Most snowboard videos are just shots of tricks edited to music, nobody really ever sees what it takes to get these shots or what a Pro's lifestyle is really like. I also decided the center this theme around a travel documentary format since most of the time these guys are on the road, I think it adds another layer to the story that makes this series that much for interesting to watch.

Vitamin Water – Chad Kerley and Kobe Bryant

I've been working with a company called World Wide Mind in Venice on a few projects over the past year. They do pretty cool short films, mostly based in the action sports realm, that live on the web as viral video commercials for clients like Vitamin Water. I've been privileged to be a co-DP on a few really fun shoots with them. This one is a pretty funny prank that we pulled on pro BMX rider Chad Kerley, where we surprised him with a meet up with basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

Making a Snowboard Movie

Mountain High has hired me to make their first ever full length snowboard film this winter. I'll be working with their awesome team - Nick Visconti, Ryan Paul, Cory Cronk, Spencer Link, Harrison Gordon and Kyle Lopiccolo and returning team rider, Marc Frank Montoya. Ya that's right, MFM! I have a pretty cool job.

Hawaii Again

I'm in Hawaii for the 4th year in a row working on the Vans Triple Crown of surfing with Windowseat Pictures. I'm the main editor for all of the preproduced content that will air on the webcast and on the Triple Crown website. I'm staying right on Sunset Point in a pretty sweet house with a good group of guys. Now we just need some waves!

DIRTY GUN IS IN THE CAN

I spent Halloween weekend directing my first narrative short film since I was in film school. The film is called Dirty Gun, written by Nick Biron and myself, it follows a group of mercenaries roaming through Afghanistan while they look for something to kill - and then hilarity ensues. Thanks to my awesome cast and crew who worked their asses off for two days in the desert we got some real cinematic gold. Now that I'm editing the film I find myself laughing out loud on a consistent basis to footage I've seen over and over again. I should be done editing sometime in December and then it's off to the festivals. EAT SOME FREEDOM!

Dirty Gun camera test – “Bo”

This is a little camera test we did to try out some muzzle flashes and action shots. It turned into more of a character bio, and I think it came out pretty cool. The audio isn't the best because this was meant to check visual quality only, but it's still a fun watch.

Yosemite
