Victor and Connor, two unlikely allies, have a big problem on their hands – a body in their trunk, and the dire need to do something about it. With a bag of cash in hand, they head to the desert to take care of their problem. Official selection FilmQuest 2020 and NYC Horror Film Fest 2020.
WSL tapped me to Produce and Edit five films for the We Are One Ocean campaign, an initiative working towards protecting 30% of our world’s ocean by 2030. Because of Covid I wasn’t able to travel to direct these films in person, so I worked remotely, guiding local crews on the creative intentions of the project and set the tone for the series along with WSL’s in-house creative director Kim Hogan and EP Tim Greenberg.
I’m extremely proud of the films we were able to creative despite the restrictions we were all placed under during Covid. To learn more and sign the petition please go to weareoneocean.org.
“As surfers and ocean lovers, the global ocean is more than just our favorite place to play. It is our arena, our office, and our inspiration. The global ocean, its waves and beaches, reefs and high seas, is truly our greatest resource and connector.
We’re calling on world leaders to adopt a target at the 2021 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity to protect and conserve at least 30 percent of the global ocean, including international waters, by 2030. We urge world leaders to be driven by science, and led by an inclusive process that embraces all stakeholder communities and considers the ocean’s value to the peoples of every nation.“

Spec PSA “Gramps”. My goal with this film was to make something fun to watch that was also inspirational. It takes place in the future, where Covid-19 has been defeated and the world has gone back to normal. Gramps is telling his granddaughter all about how we were able to overcome the terrible disease – by working together and wearing our masks everyday, even if we didn’t want to.

From February to October of 2019 MUSE took their Simulation Theory Tour to over 28 countries and played in front of more than 1 MILLION people. For more information please go to http://muse.mu/film
Conceived and filmed at London’s O2 Arena in September 2019 the film directed by Lance Drake, (who also directed all the promo videos for Simulation Theory album) and Produced by Muse, Pulse Films, Lance Drake, Jesse-Lee Stout and Matthew Bellamy, follows a team of scientists as they investigate the source of a paranormal anomaly appearing around the world. Blurring the lines between narrative and concert film, virtual and reality, Muse’s most theatrical tour to date launches the viewer through a supernatural spectacle, questioning the world around us.
Says Drake, “the goal for Simulation Theory was to capture the scale of the electrifying live show and to expand upon its connection to the DNA of the world we built for the past three years in music videos for Muse. In a strange turn, the film’s alternate reality eerily started to mirror our own.”
Available for pre order on the same day will be 2 different limited edition deluxe box sets which will be available via muse.mu and physical retail. To celebrate the release of the Deluxe box sets, MUSE also teamed up with Marvel Comics to create and release a custom Simulation Theory comic book and limited-edition poster.
I’ve been testing some new gear from Breakthrough Photography , who have been making some amazing filters for the photography space, and are now moving into the cinema space.
They sent me a pre-production set of the 4×5 ND’s, which have the best light transmission of any ND filter in the biz, even better than the Tiffen NATural ND’s. These things are flat out amazing, and I couldn’t recommend them more.
They’re also making drop in filters for the Canon EF to RF adapter which I’ve been using with my Red Komodo, and also work great with Canon R5 and R6.
I’ll be using both the 4×5 and drop in system together, with the 4×5’s in my matte box and a circular polarizer in the lens mount. Or I might do a Schneider Radiant Soft in the matte box and ND’s in the lens adapter. Super versatile.
I you’re interested in learning more head on over the Breakthrough Website.
